EZ Stud Out

Find quick answers to common questions about our EZ Stud Out products.

How do I know which template fits my vehicle?

Don't guess. We have a built-inTemplate Selector to ensure a perfect fit. Simply select your vehicle's Make, Model, and Engine, and the system will instantly identify the exact template kit compatible with your exhaust manifold.

My plates show discoloration after use. Are they ruined?

No, this is normal. The discoloration is "battle damage" caused by the intense heat of the welding process. It does not affect functionality.

  • Pro Tip: Always ensure the MIG gun nozzle is leaning securely into the template cavity. This guides the wire directly to the broken stud, ensuring the arc happens on the stud and not against the template walls.
What type of welder is required?

MIG Welders ONLY.Our system relies on the isolated, non-conductive nozzle of a MIG gun. This allows you to lean the gun against the template cavity safely without arcing on the tool itself.

  • Warning: Do not use Stick welding. It will arc against the template and permanently damage the tool.
What are the recommended welder settings?

Every rig differs, but we recommend a "Low and Slow" approach to start:

  • Wire Speed: Set to ~50%.
  • Amperage: Start Low.
  • The Technique: A low amp setting prevents damage to the template but may produce a weak weld. Incrementally bump up the amperage until you achieve a strong weld that bites into the stud, but isn't hot enough to melt the template. Find your sweet spot.
Can I use the M10 Nuts (TN25M10) on any template?

No. TheTN25M10 (M10) nuts are designed exclusively for theUniversal Kit, which features larger cavity center holes to accommodate them.

  • For all other specific kits, please use our standard M8 (TN25) nuts.

Flexmig

Find quick answers to common questions about our Flexmig products.

What is the difference between the Flexmig 360 and the 360HD?

While both give you flexibility, they are built for different "battlefields."

  • Flexmig 360 (Light Duty): Designed for maximum access. It features a thinner body and shorter nozzle to reach into extremely restricted areas, like exhaust lines and tight sheet metal work.
  • Flexmig 360HD (Heavy Duty): Built for higher heat and amperage. To handle the power, it has a thicker body and larger nozzle. It is the ideal choice for chassis work where space is slightly more forgiving but heat resistance is key.
Does this work with MIG Gas or is it Flux Core only?

It works with both. The Flexmig is engineered to allow full gas flow through the extension. Whether you are running a standard MIG setup with gas or a Flux Core setup, the tool is fully compatible.

Do I need to adjust my welder settings?

Verify your flow. While you generally don't need to change anything, the extension can cause a minor restriction in gas flow. We recommend testing your gas flow rate with the tool mounted to ensure you remain within spec for your specific weld.

Will the wire jam when bending the Flexmig?

No. We selected specific internal materials to drastically reduce drag. You can bend the Flexmig into an aggressive radius to reach difficult spots, and the wire will feed smoothly without binding.

Can I use Aluminum wire?

No. Do not use aluminum wire with this tool. Aluminum is too soft to push through the curve of the extension and it will jam. Stick to steel or stainless steel wire.
