Seized and snapped exhaust manifold studs, removed without pulling the cylinder head. Bolt on the EZ Stud Out® template, weld the nut, and back the stud right out. Save the threads, save the head, and save your day.
Bolt the engine-specific EZ Stud Out® template over the broken stud. It lines up with the exhaust port pattern, so the stud sits centred in the guide hole.
Drop the nut into the template cavity and MIG-weld it to the stud. The template keeps the weld on the stud, not on the head.
Put a wrench on the welded nut and turn the stud out. Threads saved, and the cylinder head stays on the engine.
Two worst-case manifold stud removals, each finished in under 10 minutes with EZ Stud Out® — jobs that can take up to 20 hours the conventional way.
Results from the jobs shown in the videos. Times vary by vehicle and condition.
Master Kits cover a whole engine family. Templates & Nuts target one engine.
Use the Template Selector: choose your make, model and engine, and it shows the matching EZ Stud Out® template.
No. Discoloration is heat "battle damage" and does not affect function. Keep the MIG nozzle leaning into the template cavity so the arc hits the stud.
A MIG welder only. Stick welding will arc against the template and damage it.
Start with wire speed around 50% and low amperage, then increase until the weld bites into the stud without melting the template.
No. M10 nuts are for the Universal Kit only. All other kits use M8 (TN25) nuts.
The Flexmig® 360 bends to reach welds a straight torch can't — the natural partner for your EZ Stud Out® kit.
