What does this tool do?

This tool helps you to encode or decode a text using base 64 system.

What is base 64?

The base-64 system is a numeral system with 64 as its base. It is the largest power-of-two base that can be represented using single printable ASCII characters. This has led to its use as a transfer encoding for e-mail (MIME - Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) among other things.

How do I use this tool?

Well it is quite simple. You type in some text you want. Then you choose what do you want to do with the text you've just entered. You can encode it in base 64 or you can decode it from base 64. Click on "Show result" button to see the result.
